Decisions

(web photo)
Thank you to all those people who visit my blog. I am inspired by your visitation that I will continue to try and write as much as I can. I do a little bit of reading so that seemed to help a lot. I feel a bit low but I thought of my blog and decided to put my head up again and carry on in a very positive manner. If you are going through some hardship, be encouraged God is with you
Life is full of surprises and we are constantly making choices. Our preferences reveal who we are and what we value in life. Our life is the sum total of the decisions we make every day. We have become what we have decided for the last fifteen or twenty years of our life.
What is even more significant is that we can tell the kind of life we’re going to have in future by the decisions we are making today. In this sense the future is really now. Sometimes we think that we can make bad choices today and make up for them later on. That thinking is in error. Whatever we are doing now is our tomorrow.
That is why “yes” and “no” are the most powerful words you will ever say. God desires us to say them with precision because they will determine our destiny. We will be blessed by saying yes to what is in accordance with our dream and no to anything else. Sometimes people say yes and don’t succeed in their dreams because they don’t understand that prioritising creates useful limits on their choices.
1 Corinthians 6:12 declares that, “everything is permissible for me but not everything is beneficial.” Therefore we should bear in mind that though we have permission to do everything or anything we want to,”not everything is beneficial” for us. The only thing that should have power over us are the things that will take us to our goals. If something is beneficial, we should ask ourselves if this thing we are holding on to is leading us to our dreams, destiny, purpose or goals.
This involves relationships too. There may be some good people in your life who are bad for you because they are distracting you from going where you want to go. When I was in high school my friends were having boy friends and I just concentrated on completing my education and having a job. This attitude carried me through to completing my college education. As a result I had a good job. When we don’t focus, we won’t be able to fulfil our dreams. Our greatest challenge as individuals is to choose between good and best, not good and bad because we know what is good and bad already in our conscious.
If you want to achieve your dream, keep your eyes on the goal and never take them off. There is a guarantee that you are likely to reach it.
Well will leave you here till next time. May God’s blessings be upon you as you pursue your dreams.

''...THE TRUTH ITSELF STANDS UP FOR DEMETRIUS!''
3 JOHN 12:

When others speak well of you, you have acceptance; but when the truth speaks well of you, you have character. Demetrius had it - do you? A lot has been written and said about character. Study the following words carefully then ask yourself, 'Do I have character?'

Character is simply confidence dressed in humility.

It keeps its word, its temper and its friends. It has a steady eye, a steady nerve, a steady tongue, and steady habits.

It is silent when it has nothing to say, thoughtful and compassionate when it judges, and is always first to make amends when it is wrong.

Character does not run scared.

It is surefooted, committed, and handles whatever comes along.

Character has a sense of honour.

It knows that a good laugh is often the best lubricant for oiling the machinery of human relations. Character never makes excuses.

It takes its bumps, learns from its mistakes and becomes wiser.

Character knows that courtesy and good manners are nothing more than a series of small sacrifices. It bespeaks an aristocracy that is not dependent on ancestors or money.

A Lord can be totally without it while the lowest of the low may ooze it out of every pore.

Character can talk with crowds and keep your virtue.

Character walks with Kings and does not loose the common touch.

Everyone is comfortable with a person who has character because they are comfortable with themselves!

So, how do you measure up? Still need work? Be encouraged we have the Lord on our side, He will see us through

1 John 1:7
But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
Are you one of those people going around feeling so unworthy to go into the presence of God? Do you have thoughts that say you cannot go into God’s presence because you have not been reading your Bible and going to church? Or sometimes you feel guilty because of the wrongs you have committed. When we become Christians we should be totally free from sin consciousness as we have moved from sin to the righteousness of God in Christ.
The devil will always make you feel condemned or disqualify you but the truth is that regardless of how you feel and what you have done, the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin.
In Greek text, the tense for the word “cleanses” denotes a present continuous action. This means that once you are a believer, the blood of Jesus Christ keeps on cleansing you from every sin.
So you can rest knowing that you are always forgiven in this continuous wash cycle of Jesus blood. Because you are continually cleansed, you are always in the light. You may fail from time to time, but you are still in the light because the blood is continuously washing you. Sin in the simplest form would be missing the mark. (God’s law and His commands which come from his nature are the mark or standard that we aim at and miss.)
In Revelation chapter 12:11 declares that we have overcome the devil by the blood of the lamb. If you have sinned, remind yourself that Jesus’ blood is continuously cleansing you from every sin every day. Jesus Christ paid the penalty once and for all.
The eternal blood of Jesus Christ offers you eternal redemption and everlasting righteousness. Accept the payment of His blood as the final, perfect and only sacrifice you will ever need. He loves you very much

Self - Esteem

Can you remember being given a name that you hate as a child? Even some of us are adults but still we encounter perceptions of what people think of us. When you know or aware of what people think of or see you, you easily get discouraged and give up on who you should really be. Being a Milne Bay (Samatex) I am given the name size 28 or shortie so I will tell you how I overcome these remarks.

I learn from the people in the Bible to overcome different situations like fear, marriage crisis, sickness, sorrow, worry etc. Today for self esteem I would like to share with you on what I learnt regarding Gideon in Judges 6: 12. How we feel or what others say about us is not important. We are who God says we are. Our potential is limited only by God, and not others.

Judges chapter 6 to 8
As a young lad Gideon has seen the land oppressed by the Midianites and Amalekites for seven years. Like invading locusts, the roving bands camped on the land of the Israelites. At harvest time, they destroyed the crops and animals and plundered the farmers’ houses. Israel’s misfortune was apparently caused by their spiritual relapse into Baal worship.

Gideon was discouraged and afraid that he had to hide from the Midianites to threshed wheat in the winepress. While he was threshing wheat; the angel of the Lord appeared with strong words of encouragement: And said, "The Lord is with you, you Mighty Man of Valour." And the Lord turned to him and said, "Go in this Might of Yours and deliver Israel from the hand of Midian; do not I send you." And Gideon said to him, "Pray, Lord, how can I deliver Israel? Behold, my clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family."
According to Gideon’s thinking, he was the least to be considered as a leader but God believed in him and he again was the man to deliver Israel out of the hands of their enemies. All he had to do was to trust what God says about him. The angel didn’t say, “Oh, Samatex, do you know that you can be like a Papuan or a Motuan (these are certain ethinic groups in Papua New Guinea)?” “Oh, Black man, do you know you can be like the white or Asian man?” He did not even call him coward even though he was fearfully hiding away. God called him brave and mighty warrior. God never tells us what others see or never calls us what others call us. Gideon thought he was a coward because his clan was weak and he was the smallest in the family.

Too often we believe a lie. We believe that we are “no good” and worthless. Jesus says, “Not so. I came to show you that you are more than you think.” YOU ARE THE IMAGE OF GOD. God always sees what men and women only look at. God looks beyond the limits in our lives and sees what He has made or put in you. After all, He created everything including you and me. Beyond the immediate troubles God sees success, and He continues to call it forth until what He sees becomes a reality. In 2 Corinthians 4:7, “We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.” The answer is right inside us. It’s our attitudes that make the difference. Stop agreeing with what others call you. Don’t be a prostitute because someone called you sexy, or be stupid because someone said that to you. I remember when I was called the names by my relatives and friends I responded differently. Instead of accepting what they said about me I pursued my goals. They were all shocked when I got into a cool University in UK. That was my aim to prove that I was not what people said I was. I have my mountain right now but I will overcome. Believe that you are smart and intelligent. The world will be so boring if we are all the same.
God Bless you and thank you for visiting my site. You inspire me to write!

Dad makes our world

Far away or close to me you are part of my life; my hopes, my achievements, my courage in adversity. I turn to you for encouragement and for comfort - just as I did when I was very small.
