People we have in our lives can be good or bad influences. They can be your friends or family. If we have a dream, then we need people to help us get there. We can never achieve anything on our own. Learning to appreciate people and ask ourselves as to what each person can contribute to our destiny. We need people to make it in life.
In the Bible great men and women of God were helped by other people to bring forth what God had called them to do. There’s Moses who had Aaron, Joshua had Caleb as a right man, Nehemiah who had Jews, priests, and so the list goes on.
Therefore, it is important that we work with others in making our dreams a reality. Nehemiah 2:17 reported saying, “Then I said them (the Jews, priest, nobles, officials and others), ‘you see the trouble we are in: Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been burned with fire. Come, let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and will no longer be in disgrace.’” It is very clear here that Nehemiah was given the vision, but he had to go to other people to help him get it done.
For any vision that you have God has people prepared to work with you, and they will be a blessing to you. There will always be a need for positive people in your life. When I went to high school, I had my father, aunties and uncles who helped to pay my school fees. When I was in college my uncle helped me in my spiritual walk. When I was doing my studies in UK, my husband helped me financially and academically. People will always be there waiting to help you when you start. Therefore, if you have no dream or if you do not begin to act on it, the people who are supposed to help you won’t know where to find you.
People can have either a positive or negative influence on us. However, acting on our vision will stir some people to help us and some will try to hinder us. The influence of those who spend time with us has a powerful effect on how we will end up in life, on whether we will succeed or fail.
As adults we overlooked peer pressure, thinking it’s only for young people but if we are those who are affected by people’s opinions, then we are definitely under peer pressure. If we allow people’s opinions then they can either encourage or destroy our vision. We must learn to choose our friends wisely, selecting those who are with us and not against us (in line with vision/dream) Remember, vision always brings opposition. We must get use to the idea that people may gossip about us and treat us with malice because of our vision. It’s all part of the process! Whatever, the opposition hold on to your dream because it will help you through the troubles. Sometimes, we may need to pull away from the influence of those we love to pursue our dreams and be successful.

Many of us like to talk about past failures of people we know and rejoice in our perfection without realising that the person we are talking about is loved by God. God loves all people no matter what background they may have or where they may have come from. I can remember the times when my friends said bad things about me. I also know the failures of some of my friends that did annoy me. However, God is not like us and so the way He does things can make us feel it is unjust.
What God thinks of us is the best and we should learn to get hold of it because it is life.

When you become a born again Christian dear friend, man can look at you and remember what you were like in the past. When God looks at you through the new covenant, He declares, “I will be merciful to your unrighteousness, and your sins and lawless deeds I will remember no more.”
God is reassuring us that when we come to Him, we must not think that, He is thinking about our sins. Every time He sees us, He sees Christ and not our sins. He does not have a record nor is mindful of our failures and shortcomings. That’s why He says He does not remember our sins anymore, never again.

God can say that all our sins He remembers no more because there is a time when He remembered them and punished every one of them (our sins) – in the body of His Son at the cross. He punished every single one of them until Jesus cried out, “It is finished!” (John 19:30) That is why today, God can justly say, “Your sins I will remember no more.”

We all know that we sin from time to time. But the good news is that all our sins have already been dealt with at the cross. They have been washed away by the blood of Jesus. Now we can come into God’s presence, He sees us without our sins. So beloved, forget your past failures. Believe that God remembers your sins no more and be the righteous man that you already are in Christ

Thank you to all those people who visit my blog. I am inspired by your visitation that I will continue to try and write as much as I can. I do a little bit of reading so that seemed to help a lot. I feel a bit low but I thought of my blog and decided to put my head up again and carry on in a very positive manner. If you are going through some hardship, be encouraged God is with you
Life is full of surprises and we are constantly making choices. Our preferences reveal who we are and what we value in life. Our life is the sum total of the decisions we make every day. We have become what we have decided for the last fifteen or twenty years of our life.
What is even more significant is that we can tell the kind of life we’re going to have in future by the decisions we are making today. In this sense the future is really now. Sometimes we think that we can make bad choices today and make up for them later on. That thinking is in error. Whatever we are doing now is our tomorrow.
That is why “yes” and “no” are the most powerful words you will ever say. God desires us to say them with precision because they will determine our destiny. We will be blessed by saying yes to what is in accordance with our dream and no to anything else. Sometimes people say yes and don’t succeed in their dreams because they don’t understand that prioritising creates useful limits on their choices.
1 Corinthians 6:12 declares that, “everything is permissible for me but not everything is beneficial.” Therefore we should bear in mind that though we have permission to do everything or anything we want to,”not everything is beneficial” for us. The only thing that should have power over us are the things that will take us to our goals. If something is beneficial, we should ask ourselves if this thing we are holding on to is leading us to our dreams, destiny, purpose or goals.
This involves relationships too. There may be some good people in your life who are bad for you because they are distracting you from going where you want to go. When I was in high school my friends were having boy friends and I just concentrated on completing my education and having a job. This attitude carried me through to completing my college education. As a result I had a good job. When we don’t focus, we won’t be able to fulfil our dreams. Our greatest challenge as individuals is to choose between good and best, not good and bad because we know what is good and bad already in our conscious.
If you want to achieve your dream, keep your eyes on the goal and never take them off. There is a guarantee that you are likely to reach it.

When others speak well of you, you have acceptance; but when the truth speaks well of you, you have character. Demetrius had it - do you? A lot has been written and said about character. Study the following words carefully then ask yourself, 'Do I have character?'

Character is simply confidence dressed in humility.

It keeps its word, its temper and its friends. It has a steady eye, a steady nerve, a steady tongue, and steady habits.

It is silent when it has nothing to say, thoughtful and compassionate when it judges, and is always first to make amends when it is wrong.

Character does not run scared.

It is surefooted, committed, and handles whatever comes along.

Character has a sense of honour.

It knows that a good laugh is often the best lubricant for oiling the machinery of human relations. Character never makes excuses.

It takes its bumps, learns from its mistakes and becomes wiser.

Character knows that courtesy and good manners are nothing more than a series of small sacrifices. It bespeaks an aristocracy that is not dependent on ancestors or money.

A Lord can be totally without it while the lowest of the low may ooze it out of every pore.

Character can talk with crowds and keep your virtue.

Character walks with Kings and does not loose the common touch.

Everyone is comfortable with a person who has character because they are comfortable with themselves!
